NamSoo Lee
Namsoo is a highly accomplished former South Korean National Handball Team athlete and an experienced coach who brings more than 10 years of elite international competition experience to the Handball Futures Festival coaching staff. As a 10-year veteran of the South Korean National Team, Namsoo represented South Korea at the highest levels of international handball, including the Olympic Games, World Championships, and Asian Games. Lee was a key member of the national team that achieved a 4th-place finish at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and also contributed to two Asian Games gold medal victories in 1998 and 2002. Throughout an outstanding athletic career, Namsoo earned multiple individual honors, including MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Best 7 recognition, reflecting exceptional skill, leadership, and dedication on the court. Beyond handball, Lee has also contributed to the broader sports community through more than 10 years of volunteer service as an official in swimming. This experience reflects Lee’s continued commitment to youth athletics, sportsmanship, and athlete development across multiple sports. Namsoo holds an M.A. in Education from Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea. Combining world-class athletic experience with a strong educational background, Namsoo is passionate about mentoring young athletes and helping them develop technical skills, discipline, leadership, resilience, and confidence both on and off the court.
