| NOTES FROM USA TEAM HANDBALL
Mike King Chief Executive Officer USA Team Handball |
We are gearing up for the US College National Championships April 4-6 at James Madison University and remain excited by the continued efforts and progress of Handball Futures. It is wonderful to see the tryout structure sprout into five locations, creating a promising, collective runway for women's identification, play, and development bridge—five HF tryouts, Junior and Senior Women's national team qualifiers, and College and Open Nationals, in just the span of March 30-May 11, creates great momentum and opportunity.

50 Years in the Sport by Javier Garcia Cuesta |
Article by: Pete Lash, Olympian ’84, ‘88 |

Javier Garcia Cuesta has recently released an English language version of his book “50 Years in the Sport”. It is now available on Amazon (50 Years in the Sport - Amazon) and Barnes & Noble (50 Years in the Sport – Barnes & Noble)!
In addition to playing in the 1972 Olympic games for Spain, Javier coached the USA Men’s Olympic team in ’84 and to a Pan American Games gold medal in 1987. He went on to lead 2 other countries (Spain ‘92, Egypt ’96) in subsequent Olympic Games, not to mention successful stints coaching Brazil and Portugal.
He writes fondly of his USA experience (coaching both men’s and women’s teams) and of the many great relationships he established with so many of his players and officials throughout the world. I hope you’ll order a copy to learn more about the career, coaching philosophy and life of this international handball legend. — Pete Lash, Olympian ’84, ‘88 |
