Igniting the Future of Handball!

Excited to introduce Fast Break: Handball Futures News! This newsletter keeps our incredible handball community—supporters, athletes, coaches, referees and enthusiasts—connected and informed.

Handball Futures is dedicated to growing handball in the U.S. and building a pipeline for Team USA. We’re kicking off the Handball Futures Festival (HFF) to give top athletes a stage to shine and push toward Olympic dreams.

With LA 2028 approaching, we have a golden opportunity to elevate handball. Team USA automatically qualifies, but we need strong development programs. We're starting with women's handball and expanding to men’s and wheelchair handball to grow the sport nationwide.

In partnership with USA Team Handball, we’re committed to making handball thrive.

Stay tuned for events, guest appearances, and ways to get involved.

Let’s build a bright future for handball!

Reviving a Legacy: Leveraging the Olympic Festival Model to Elevate Team Handball in the U.S.

Inspired by the original Olympic Festival created by Bill and Frankie Tutt, a group of handball Olympians established Handball Futures, Inc. Their flagship event, the Handball Futures Festival, aims to showcase emerging talent and create pathways to international competition. Read about how the Tutts' pioneering efforts are now being used to advance handball in the U.S.

Festival Coaches: Shaping Handball’s Future

We are thrilled to announce our inaugural coaching team: Chris Cappelmann, Martin Bilello, Wade Sutton, and Mark Ortega. These dedicated professionals will mentor athletes at the Handball Futures Festival, fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Their guidance is essential in building a competitive pathway to international arenas, including the Olympic Games.

Are you an athlete aiming to compete at the highest level and pursue your Olympic dreams? Handball Futures is seeking passionate individuals to join our competitive team, offering opportunities for national and international competitions, including professional play overseas.

If you or someone you know is interested, learn more about our athlete recruitment process and take the first step toward an exciting future in handball.
